Statement of Values
The problems we want to address:
We already do a lot to solve the problems outlined in our vision, but we can do more! Specifically, over the next 3-5 years, we want to focus in on the following 3, high-level problems:
- Early-career engineers are learning to code, but still building the collaboration skills necessary to land a job on a team of engineers. (see Core TCL Program)
- Early-career engineers don’t have access to committed, inclusive, and active networks that will help make sure they’re ready to land their first job. (see Career Prep Extension Program)
- Companies are reluctant to hire early-career engineers because they don’t think they have the capacity to invest in someone’s growth and are unsure of how best to support the engineers so that everyone thrives. (see Work with companies)
What we’re going to do about those problems:

Core TCL Program: We will continue to improve and refine our core TCL program that gives Collabies experience collaborating with a team of developers to build an app.

Career Prep Extension Program: We will offer an extension after the TCL core program where Collabies can work with our volunteers to refine their application and interviewing skills.
- Work with Companies: Partner with companies to create more seats in their organizations for early-career engineers.
